Josée Lord, born in Three Rivers (Québec) in 1964, has been painting from a very young age. Her use of rich, warm colors give shape to the still life paintings that she creates. A black contour, painted with pastels and acrylic, outline her subject matter. She uses her fingers to draw her lines. Lord says that she needs to physically be in contact with her pieces, that she needs to touch her paint in order to breathe life to it.
